Full of heart, with an adventurous spirit that can find trouble easily, she works hard to make amends for the stones she cast at Sammie Jetsam. Dencey has a deep respect for her strict mother and a heart-filling love for her often absent ship’s-captain father. Dencey’s and Sam’s various adventures introduce us to other Quaker personalities, the Nantucket Quaker culture, and fun community events that were a mainstay at that time.
